Preparing your home for storm damage is important. We at SERVPRO of Lafayette / Moraga / Orinda  have some tips and will focus on Hail damage and thunderstorm winds.

Not only cars suffer from hail causing dents,  after a hail storm, make sure no water is leaking through the roof because hail damage can weaken a roof to the point that leaks develop.

Thunderstorm winds can also cause significant damage: make sure you don't have loose objects in the yard. They can be thrown at the house and cause damage. significant damage is also caused by fallen tree branches so try to keep the trees close to your home pruned and the branches removed. cars in the garage may be a good idea too, nobody wants dents right?
